Pleasanton, California is one of the many jewels of Alameda County. Located about 25 miles east of Oakland, Pleasanton is affluent and very popular. Pleasanton is probably best known for its downtown area, which is rich with shopping and restaurants.

Despite Pleasanton’s wealth, the median home price is still under $1 million, but barely. The median rent comes in at close to $4,000 a month.

Like the rest of the inland areas, Pleasanton is a bit warmer than much of the bay in the summer and cooler in the winter. In July, the high temperatures average almost 90 degrees and in January, the lows are in the mid 30s.
